Volunteers’ Week 2025 runs from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th June. Celebrated across the UK it’s a time to recognise the incredible contributions made by millions of volunteers across the country. Volunteers are the quiet heroes who make a big difference.
Why Volunteers' Week Matters
Volunteers’ Week isn’t just a date in the diary – it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and say a heartfelt thank you.
Volunteers offer their time, skills, and compassion without expecting anything in return and as a result make a huge difference to the work of charities and people’s lives.
Volunteers’ week is also a time to encourage others to consider volunteering – whether for an hour or two each week or for a one off event. As well as having a big impact, volunteering has a huge number of benefits.
The Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteering is about community, but it’s also about connection, learning, and purpose.
Many of our volunteers tell us how much they value the sense of connection and community they gain from being involved. For some, it helps to combat loneliness or social isolation. For others, it’s a way to make new friends, build confidence, or gain valuable experience to strengthen their CV. We’re always happy to provide references and support for volunteers looking to take their next steps, whether in work, education, or other opportunities.

A Final Thank You
To every volunteer out there – thank you.
Thank you for your time, your energy, and your belief in making things better. You are the heartbeat of our communities, and this Volunteers’ Week, we celebrate all that you do.
