Meet the Team

Christine - CEO

I joined Cards Ford Good Causes in July 2024, recently having left a retail charity based in London that ultimately supported the HIV Community. Prior to moving to the charity sector in 2018, my career in the commercial world was latterly focused on IT consultancy.

I am proud to be part of an organisation that helps raise much needed funds for so many in demand services and causes in the UK: in the past 10 years, £22million raised for charities and a further £2.7million for nationwide community spaces.

Outside of work, I love to cook, experimenting new dishes on friends, and spending precious time with my family. I have been a Samaritan volunteer since 2010. For me it is very important to give back to our local community and society, and to help others.

You can reach me at christine.ansell@cfgc.org.uk.

Becky - Operations

I’ve got 20 years' experience in supply chain due diligence, ethical practices and client service, having worked with major corporations and charities delivering merchandise and fundraising materials for national and global events. I manage our licensed charity partnerships and operations for the organisation.

Outside of greetings cards and ethically produced gifts, I am also very passionate about spending time with my wonderful family and friends. Apart from spending most weekends around Surrey at football matches, I enjoy cooking (with my little master chef!), entertaining and a good spin class! You can contact me at shop.support@cfgc.org.uk

Carlie - Finance and HR

I joined Cards for Good Causes in March 2020 (a memorable date). I control and manage all aspects of finance and HR for the Charity and the organisation and have a background in corporate finance with a retail focus.

For specific invoicing or finance based questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on finance@cfgc.org.uk

This organisation has allowed me to combine a few of my passions including charity work, retail and, of course, numbers. Aside from this, I love having adventures with my fantastic family and our dog. The most special voluntary work I undertook was to provide finance services to a small museum in rural Bostwana, again combining charitable work, retail, numbers and the best of all....Africa!

Alicia - Buying and Marketing

I have worked with Cards for Good Causes as Buying Manager since 2019, working as a gift and card buyer for 11 years before that. You could definitely say that I am passionate about cards - I have drawers full of them! I can’t resist buying more whenever I see an unusual design in a gift shop or online.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening and you may see my love of nature reflected in some of the cards we sell, as well as my love of cats.

I also manage the website and, more recently, the charity’s marketing so the best place to reach me is: website.support@cfgc.org.uk

I joined the team here at Cards for Good Causes in 2023 as Digital Marketing Executive, looking after all things digital including our social media, e-newsletters and the website.

I have worked in the charity sector for over 16 years in both fundraising and marketing roles. I am passionate about giving back and am proud to work for an organisation that works tirelessly to support both local and national charities across the UK.

When I'm not at work I love spending time with my family, going on muddy dog walks and relaxing with a good book!

You can reach me at digital@cfgc.org.uk

I joined Cards for Good Causes in Spring 2018 as an Area Manager, having managed a CFGC pop-up shop in 2017. I can be contacted for any host related queries including new potential site opportunities on shop.support@cfgc.org.uk

Having been in the charity retail sector for nearly ten years, the role is varied, and I enjoy discussing and planning the season with Hosts around the country; all of us wanting to achieve the best for the charities we represent.

In my spare time, I enjoy the countryside and fighting what sometimes feels like a losing battle in the garden!

I joined Cards For Good Causes in July 2023 having previously worked in the corporate card industry for over 14 years and retail for over 25 years. I have a background in people management, engagement and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment through diversity and inclusion.

I am proud to be part of an organisation that has been supporting charities since 1959, raising vital funds for over 200 local and national charities, and community spaces, with the support of our fabulous team and over 5,000 amazing volunteers.

Outside of work, living in beautiful Wales I love to visit as many country walks and parks as possible and I also enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and friends. It is important to me to give back by supporting my local community and charities through volunteering.

Gordon – Regional Manager Central

I joined Cards for Good Causes in 2019 as a Regional Manager in the London area having worked in charity retail for Mind for the previous 15 years. My career has predominantly been in retail, but I have also worked in the oil industry. However, it is the charitable sector that has been the most rewarding in allowing me to be part of a team to help change the lives of those who are not so fortunate.

Cards for Good Causes is a fantastic charity supporting over 200 national and local charities whilst trading from over 100 pop-up shops in community spaces throughout the UK and I am proud to be part of a team that contributes towards so many good causes.

When I am not at work my time is spent gardening, growing vegetables on my allotment and playing the guitar very badly!!

Stephen - Regional Manager East

After 20 plus years as an Area Manager for both Cancer Research UK and Scope, I retired in 2015 and joined Cards For Good Causes as a Shop Manager in Bury St Edmunds in 2017. I love setting up the shops ready for the season and look forward to working with the Shop Managers and volunteer teams across the region.

When not unpacking boxes of cards, I enjoy doing various roles, some paid and some volunteering. I work at the Theatre Royal and St Edmundsbury Cathedral as well as being a Blue Badge Tour Guide in Suffolk. I’m a trustee for both the Bury Society, Bury in Bloom, and give regular talks on local history and retail. I’m also a regular on BBC Radio Suffolk.

Cards For Good Causes is a fantastic organisation to be involved with and one in which we all work together to support over 70 charities annually.

Pete - Regional Manager South

I joined Cards For Good Causes in September 2024 having previously been the Shop Manager at Sloane Square in 2022.

I have worked with charities for over ten years and have always had a passion for advancing the needs of good causes.

Cards for Good Causes is, for me, the best charity. Our work supports so many local and national charities as well as some wonderful community spaces from which our pop-up shops are run. Our shops are in the heart of communities and are supported by local volunteers creating an amazing place to work and make new friends.

When I am not at work my time is spent on my yacht which I live on full time, sailing to different countries around the Mediterranean.
